NAPM strengthens cooperation with Beijing University with the assistance of the Chinese Embassy in the field of advanced training of civil servants

On November 28, 2019, the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (hereinafter - NAPM) held a meeting with the representatives of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan (ECCO) and Peking University.

As it was mentioned at the meeting that Uzbekistan and China have been cooperating fruitfully for several decades, and it is certain that the partnership between the countries is developing rapidly, revealing the potential for deepening bilateral cooperation in many areas.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the discussion of prospects and opportunities for cooperation in the framework of scheduled workshops in China in 2020.

The Agency expressed interest in strengthening and encouraging cooperation in the field of exchange of best practices in the organization of workshops on professional development.

Alongside with that, the Chinese part proposed to organize training for representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan in various areas of Master's and Doctoral studies on a grant basis at the Institute "South-South" at Beijing University, and also acquainted with the requirements for candidates and the procedure for their selection.

It should be noted that the Chinese government during the period from April to December 2019, represented by the Ministry of Commerce of China, has successfully organized more than 130 seminars and trainings on various topics for public officials of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The seminars were attended by more than 350 learners from more than 120 ministries and departments of the public sector. During the seminars, participants also studied the economic and social development of China as well as measures aimed at implementing the initiative "One Belt, One Road".
